Camilla's Choir: Classical Star seeks Britain's Best Amateur Choristers

Britain's new classical star, 21-year-old Camilla Kerslake, who was discovered by Take That's Gary Barlow and signed to his own Future Records label, announces a nation-wide search for the country's best amateur choristers to sing with her at a prestigious London carol concert to be broadcast nationally on Classic FM.

'Camilla's Choir' will perform at the third annual Carol Concert for The Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts, to be held at the beautiful St James's Church, Piccadilly, London on Friday 11th December. The choir will accompany Camilla on her version of the hymn 'How Can I Keep From Singing', which features as the soundtrack to this year's Waitrose TV ad campaign and will appear on her eponymous debut album, out on 23rd November (Future Records / Mercury). They will also sing 'The First Noel' with her. Classic FM will record the concert for broadcast later in December.

Camilla is looking for 16 amazing amateur choral singers from all over the UK - four soprano, four alto, four tenor and four bass. She invites anyone who'd like to audition to upload a clip of themselves performing 'How Can I Keep From Singing' - or to send in a CD / DVD of their performance to the address below. Entries must be uploaded or received by Monday 30th November.

All entries will be considered by Camilla and her incredible judging panel, which will include Take That's Gary Barlow, founder of Future Records, Camilla's musical director Simon Lole and Future Records Managing Director Celia McCamley.

The panel will choose 16 choristers who will spend a day rehearsing in London on Thursday 10th December, for the performance the following evening. Travel to and from London and 2 nights accommodation will be included for the winners.

"I’m so very excited to have this opportunity of putting a choir together," says Camilla. "This industry is a hard one to break into and I’m glad to be able to help showcase local talent that may otherwise have gone unnoticed! I'm looking forward to seeing all the entries and picking twelve stars to sing with me at St James’s in December."
